Birmingham Shockwave Therapy

Our clinic is based at the Natural Health Centre, Kings Norton, Birmingham. Lead therapist - Ben Levine - is a sports therapist with 20 years experience dealing with musculo-skeletal problems. 
Ben invested in shockwave approximately 5 years ago when he was experiencing a persistent patella tendon injury (Jumpers Knee). Despite running through the regular courses of action (stretching, loading, massage etc...) the injury was just not improving. This was when he looked into shockwave after seeing it at a Therapy exhibition. After initially trialing a machine for a few months, Ben was astounded at the improvements he was getting - not only on his own patella issue, but on other clients whom he trialed the shockwave on.
5 years on, we have helped many people overcome stubborn chronic overuse injuries.

 What makes us different from other shockwave providers?

The shockwave itself addresses the actual problem, but what about the cause? Many clinics just perform the shockwave treatment on its own. As this only lasts 5 minutes or so, you are in and out quite quickly. We will provide soft tissue therapy (massage, stretch, myofascial work) and prescribe exercises to address the cause of the injury - to make sure there is minimal chance of re-occurance.

What shockwave machine do we use?

We use a BTL 6000 Topline model. This is the strongest portable shockwave on the market allowing use of up to 5 bars of pressure and up to 20 Hz frequency.
